I am studying how signal transduction systems encode and transmit information, and how to quantitatively modify these behaviors. This involves measuring the details of system behavior, primarily in single cells, and using these data to uncover and understand different quantitative systems level behaviors. I am also interested in applying bioengineering and synthetic biology to make organisms produce novel materials and renewable fuels.
